It's bordering on too-unbelievable, definitely. But I still watch anyway. Why would Fayed start the bomb when there is no way in hell he'd be able to escape in time? And somehow he snuck out through the wall, into the sewers and out to a helicopter in like 5 minutes? I think the problem is the "real time" is becoming less real.
What I find more annoying is the little CTU office drama they have to keep introducing every season. So-and-so doesn't like So-and-so. What's-his-nuts can't do his job, or wait, now he can. Somebody tries to get someone else fired. Yadda yadda yadda.

And I'm still kinda pissed they killed Curtis. Yeah.
But I need my Bauer fix.

I'm hoping that it kinda comes back. You know how it with 24, in the 24th hour we will have forgotten all about Morris and Fayed and it'll be about some crazy Russians.
But yeah, its not NEARLY as good as last season, which was the best season ever.
I thought it would be really neat to see a broken Jack, but its not, he's just too intense, he never speaks normally, it's always Jack-speak. And the tie with the brother and the dad is too much.
And I figured out that Wayne Palmer needs some more black man in him. When he was telling off the Karl Rove guy, it was like .... FINALLY, give him the hand Wayne!

I think the problem is the "real time" is becoming less real. Yes! That is one of the things that's driving me nuts right now. I'd be ok with Fayed getting away if the gimmick of the show wasn't tied directly into time. I could accept some flexible timing there except the show keeps reminding me how it is supposed to work with the "beep, boop, beep, boop" coming in and out of every commercial. And why do the President's in this show keep surrounding themselves with a-holes? Don't they get to pick their cabinet and veep? I'm still looking forward to Aaron's triumphant return.

I thought they'd really hit their stride after last season, but so far they're not impressing me this time around. Remember the whole thing about the dear price the Americans paid to get Jack from the Chinese? What was that?
And when will hostages learn that doing the bad guys' bidding will still get them killed? Morris should have known that better than anyone. Plus, he's techy-smart and should have been able to put in a timer in the arming device so it wouldn't arm any more devices after a minute or something. Also, he sure seemed comfortable moving around the office a few minutes after getting a freaking DRILL to his back.

Just a little bit of related 24 gossip...
I read a lot of crap magazines at ye olde yarn shoppe where I work. The latest US Weekly reports that Keifer Sutherland's kids go out of their way to lose the 24 video game on purpose so that Jack Bauer/Dad will die.
If 24 has taught us nothing this year, it's that there's nothing like family. Even in real life.

Doesn't Josh Bauer look a lot like Kim Bauer?
Same dad?

Oh yeah, I absolutely think Josh is Jack's, no doubt about it. I even think blue eyed lady and Jack both know this.
I'm very much looking forward to the return of Gregory Itzin, HOWEVER, it still seems like they're grasping at straws, even with him. Like "Oh yeah, everyone loved him, we should bring him back even if it doesn't fit in to the storyline".
But I will wait and see. Yes I will.

Here's what I was thinking about 5 minutes in to last night's episode:
"This season isn't living up to last season. Presient Logan was such a great bad guy, and this season there's just nothing like him."
Here's what the writers were thinking about 5 minutes into writing last night's episode:
"This season isn't living up to last season. Presient Logan was such a great bad guy, and this season there's just nothing like him. Let's bring him back."
I think it's kind of a cheesy move, like trying to patch a hole in a raft instead of getting a new raft. We'll see, but I'm gonna be skeptical.

It's back it's back! I'm so happy.
Okay, so maybe they forced Gregory Itzin to come back because he's awesome, but last night had more and more of what 24 is about.
And that is someone doing something really wrong (chad lowe) and watching him struggle as they whole thing falls apart. I loved everyone looking for Tom and watching poor Chad sweat, and then the bomb oh my god! His face when it didn't work was unbelievable.
24 is picking up, and I am most pleased.

I'm just glad Chad Lowe was able to rise so far in government even though he's HIV positive.

What do you mean when it didn't work? It worked. The bomb exploded. At least, on my TV it did.
Also, Morris, you had a HALF-INCH FUCKING DRILL BIT in your shoulder a couple HOURS ago. FUCKING ACT LIKE IT!

Yes! The drill bit in your back. Please, ache a little.
I want to like this season, I really do, but something is stopping me.
Oh yes. The story.

Well, I don't think it killed the president and I don't think it killed Fayed...so...it didn't work.
And I think thats what the look on Chad Lowe's face was expressing...in "Oh snap, that didn't work at all".
The bomb worked, but I don't think it took care of what it was supposed to take care of.

I'm pretty sure Fayed is a goner. The pres was saved by the secret service agent that threw himself on top of Principal Wood.
Since Dr. Janosz is still alive, I'm pretty sure Jesse McKenna is going down and going down hard.
The credits said Nancy Cartwright was supposed to be in the episode but I don't remember seeing her.
And yes, I'm getting distracted by the fact that so many major players on the show I remember as other characters on completely different shows.
