big ups:
the recurring flashback/soundtrack of guy running on the golf course the detective interrupting andy's cliche statements seeing lew rough up the golf course cashier after the cashier had agreed to andy's request to see the tape.
good stuff.
in the end credits, nbc said that the amy sedaris episode would be only on the web -- are they knocking down the series run from 6 to 5?

I have only seen the pilot episode so far, but I really enjoyed it. Very impressive, especially considering it was the pilot episode. They managed to weave character introductions and plot and humor very well for a 24-minute show. Looking forward to the rest!

I can't believe they'd waste such little time fucking that show over. Even Arrested Development managed to get out 2 episodes before it was insulted on that level.

investment-wise the web makes more sense in that with DVRs everyone is fastforwarding past the commericals so.. less eyeballs... You can't fastforward through the commericials online.. so you're a captive audience. They think it's good math...
Also, NBC is releaseing stuff online and then putting it on regular TV as Newpeats (they recently did this with The Office hourlong repeat).

Ack.
Based on what I know of the television bidness (it's a hobby of mine to follow the industry), I knew that this show wasn't long for this earth. However, I did let my heart get in the way, gadddamnit.
Supposedly, NBC's (or Kevin Reilly's) mantra is "first be the best, and then we'll be the first." I get it -- if you're in 4th place, you might as well build in quality shows and then grow the audience. ABPI was very much a quality show -- in terms of script, cinematography, etc. Plus, it had Conan as an EP -- I'd think that he'd have a little more pull to get at least a 13 ep pickup for next season, or even a summer run (unless this is a really expensive show to produce).

Boo! I loved last week's episode about the dad-in-law's tax filing. And the fact that Andy's laptop had a unicorn sticker on the bottom.
Boo, NBC, Boo!
